- II
Farmhouse. Mid - late C17 with C19 alterations and refronting, C20 alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble, stone dressings and quoins, double Roman and pantiled roofs with brick gable stacks. U-plan, former through passage. 2 storeys and 5 windows, all 2-light casements with segmental heads, 2nd from right C20 door in moulded and stopped frame with cambered head; heads of first floor windows and upper courses of stonework different from lower, probably after C19 re-roofing. Left return has rear wing (formerly stable) with brick lean-to, 2 doors and 2 central windows, 4-pane to left and 8-pane to right, 2 dormers of 8 panes each, one 4-pane dormer. Right return has C20 door to rear of main house, rear wing has C20 door and 2 windows, 3-light casement under eaves, 8-pane dormer as at left, lower outhouse attached to right. Interior: front right room has chamfered beams, heavy wooden lintel to fireplace with former smoking chamber recess to right; wide entrance hall with chamfered and stopped beams and mortices for former screens, site of former stair to rear of passage; front left room has very wide timber lintel to fireplace. C19 straight stair to first floor, door with chamfered and stopped frame and cambered head, circular recess to rear for former stair.
