4/234 Gates and gate-piers at north
entrance to churchyard of Church
of St Ida

GV II

Gateway to churchyard comprising gate-piers and gates. Circa 1870, probably
contemporary with the restoration of the church by J.P. St Aubyn in 1870. Stone
rubble gate-piers, square on plan with original wrought-iron gates. The gates are of
a kissing-gate type similar to those at the Church of St Petroc in Padstow (qv). The
stiles are ornamented with spears and the main verticals with cast-iron finials.
