Details
STREATLEY WALLINGFORD ROAD (east side) SU 58 SE 1/2 Streatley Farmhouse GV II* Farmhouse. Dated 1675 H.T.M. above door to east. Flint with brick dressings, lacing courses, plinth, first floor plat band raised over doorway, eaves plat band and parapet. Old tile roof with 3 gables to east, those to right and left with blank windows and that in centre with 3-light leaded casement. Stacks in front of outer gables, each with 2 diamond shaft. 2 storeys and attic. East front: central first floor segmental headed paired glazing bar sash flanked by 2 segmental headed blank windows, and segmental headed glazing bar sash to right of right-hand stack. Ground floor segmental headed glazing bar sash off- centre to left, segmental headed C20 cross window off-centre to right, and segmental headed C20 cross wing to right of right-hand stack. Central 4-panelled door with glazed upper panels between first and second windows from left; flanking brick pilasters with moulded grotesque capitals, and flanking moulded scrolls, entablature with moulded brick cornice, moulded brick broken segmental pediment with date, initials and stone ball finial in tympanum. Interior: C17 three-flight square-well staircase with continuous string, turned balusters and square newel posts with ball finials.
