FORE STREET 1. 1633 (East Side) No 23 (Lyndon House). Premises occupied by Olive Ltd. Premises occupied by Stead and Simpson. SY 1287 1/245 II GV 2. Circa 1830-40 row of 4 three storey stucco faced houses, the centre 2 treated as one. Parapet with coping. Full height incised panelled pilaster strips. 7 windows in all, centre one blind. Inner windows on No 23 and Stead and Simpson single sashes, the others tripartite, most with glazing bars intact. Comber headed arches with incised multiple keys-tones, thin block sills. Modern shop fronts to No 23 and Lyndon House. Olive Ltd has delicate Victorian shop front of thin panelled pilasters, fluted brackets over to dentil cornice, fascia board. Narrow window to left of front, wide one to right, door set back between, glazed with bottom panel, rectangular fanlight. A tracery band runs across doorhead and is carried over windows as well. Stead and Simpson has a modern shopfront.
