Details
LODDINGTON RICHARDSON'S LANE SP 87 NW (west side) 5/50 Loddington Farmhouse. GV II Farmhouse. Now a house. Mid C17 with C18 additions and mid C19 alterations. Coursed and squared ironstone and brick with flared headers, limestone dressings and hipped and gabled Welsh slate roofs. Coped gables with kneelers, central ridge and single side wall brick stacks. 2 storeys plus garrets, 3 bays. Originally L-plan, now with 2 ranges. Double gabled south front has to left a central 4-light mullioned casement on each floor and to the garret, a similar 3-light casement, all with hood moulds. Right gable has a tall 6./6 sash and above it, a similar smaller sash. West front has to left a C19 part glazed door with overlight and slated hood on brackets. To its right, a tall early C19 8/12 sash and a smaller 6/6 sash, both with wooden lintels. East side has 2-storey projecting wing to left with a small sash to right on each floor. Setback C17 wing, to right, has a small casement on each floor and to the garret, a 2-light mullioned casement with hood mould. North side has to left a 3-light mullioned cellar window. Above again, a small casement and a round headed stair light, both C19, with margin lights. Interior has chamfered spine beams, one with C17 stops. 2 C18 2-panel doors.
