Details

ROTHWELL DESBOROUGH ROAD SP 8081-8181 (south west side) 9/69 No 11 II Farmhouse, now a house. 1631, refenestrated C18, rear range, 1849. Ironstone with limestone dressings and Welsh slate roofs. Plinth, coped gables, 2 C19 rendered brick valley stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays, double range plan. South front has a central gabled porch with quoins, chamferd flat headed doorway with keystone and coped gable with finial. In the gable, a datestone inscribed '1631'. On either side a 10/10 glazing bar sash, and above, 3 smaller 6/6 sashes, all with keystoned flat heads. Double east gable has to left a full height glazing bar sash. To its right, a similar small sash and a smaller leaded casement. Above, a glazing bar sash and to right a 3-light leaded casement, both with keystoned flat arches. In each gable peak, a datestone, that to right incscribed '1849'. West double gable has to left a C19 3-light mullioned and transomed casement with keystoned segmental head. To right, a C19 glazing bar sash, and above, 2 similar sashes, all with keystoned flat heads. Rear has a central C20 lean-to porch flanked to left by a C20 casement and a 2-light iron framed leader casement. Above, 2 C19 plain sashes.
