6/276 Barn and attached wall and gate piers about 30 metres north of G.V. Tormarton Court

Barn, now library; attached wall and gate piers. Barn dated 1780 in gable end, with later alterations. Barn in rubble, double Roman tiled roof with raised coped verges, kneelers and finials; wall in rubble with stone coping, ashlar piers. South elevation of barn has cart entry with timber lintel, ventilation slit to left, 2 sashes and ventilation slit to right, lean-to attached to left with door and 4-pane window. Left return has owlhole and datestone, stepped stonework under verges, quoins; right return similar with sash. Rear has cart entry porch with pitched roof in corrugated iron, ventilation slit left and right and 15-pane sash to left. Interior: not inspected. Wall attached to south east corner, extends to south about 100 metres, about 2 metres high, has door with keystone at southern end, towards north recessed in an arc with 2 piers at outer sides of arc, both square with cornice and shaped top, similar taller piers to each side of entrance.
