Two houses. Mid C18, with later C18 front extension. Coursed limestone rubble;
gabled stone slate roof; brick end stack and stone rear lateral stack. L-plan
with front left wing. 2 storeys. 2-window front of left wing has timber lintels
over C20 casements and early C19 eight-pane sash. C20 porch at junction with
elevation to right, which has 3 mid C19 sashes. Rear elevation of 2-storey,
2-window range has keyed segmental brick arches over partly-blocked windows. Mid
C19 extension to left is attached to No.53 (q.v.). Interior not inspected but
likely to be of interest. Subsidiary features: c.1820 limestone ashlar gatepier,
with moulded cornice and pineapple finial, is attached to left. Included for
group value.
