SE23SW LS28 FULNECK PUDSEY (north side) SE223320 No 29 (Nelson House) 4/124 including steps and railings to front GV II
House now partly used for girl's school with flats above. Late C18, bay window added mid C19. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3 bays. Quoins, plinth. Central doorway with monolithic jambs approached up a double flight of 6 stone steps with cast-iron rod railings surmounted by decorative wrought-iron hoop braced to wall. Single-light window above to each floor. Flanking bays have 2-light flat-faced mullioned windows to each floor. Ground floor 3rd bay altered with flat-roofed canted bay window with sill band. lst-floor windows of outer bays have wrought-iron window boxes. Attic windows set under eaves are shorter and blind. Paired gutter brackets. Coped gables with end stacks. Mid C20 roof dormers.
Once the home of Charles Sebastian Nelson, architect (Leeds), who played the Fulneck Chapel organ. Part of the Moravian settlement of Fulneck (q.q.v.).
