Details
YATTENDON YATTENDON LANE (north side) SU 5574 11/31 Homestead Cottage GV II Cottage. Late C19 with Circa 1900 addition to south and small C20 addition to east, by Alfred Waterhouse. Red brick, some first floor timber framing to south with brick nogging and plaster infill in gable end. Toothed verges, gable to east with corbelled dovecote in apex. Old tile roof, lower over addition to south. Gabled semi dormer with 2-light segmental headed casement to west in southern wing, gabled semi dormer with half glazed segmental headed loft door to south in stable wing to west, central ridge stack, and end stack to north. T-plan. 1½ storeys. South front: first floor 3-light casement in gable end, and ground floor 2-light segmental headed casement below. West front: ground floor 2-light segmental headed casement off-centre to left and segmental headed doorway to left with half glazed door. East front: first floor 2-light casement to left, ground floor 2-light segmental headed casement off-centre to left, and segmental headed doorway to left with boarded door and tiled lean-to porch. Later one-storey lean-to to right with small casement. First floor 2-light segmental headed casement in gable end of projecting wing to right, and ground floor 4-light segmental headed casement below. Stable wing: central segmental headed doorway with 2 leaf boarded door, flanked by two 2-light segmental headed casements.
