BRIDSTOW CP SO 52 SE 6/23 Granary about 20 yards south-west of Weirend Farmhouse

GV II

Granary. C18. Sandstone rubble and Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan aligned west-north-west/east-south-east with five structural bays. Two levels. North elevation has two windows, 2-light late C19 casements, one either side of central ledged door reached by tallet stairs rising from the right. Ground floor has ledged door to left-hand side flanked by two vent slits. To the right is another ledged door. East gable has 2-light case- ment with segmental head to first floor and square opening to apex. Interior has unusual trusses with corbelled king-posts carrying two pairs of parallel struts to principals. Within the east gable is an enclosure for pigeons or doves entering through the square opening. The trusses are very similar to those in the Barn, about 90 yards south-west of Grange Farmhouse (qv), in Harewood CP.
