Details
SP 13 NW BROADWAY CP - 5/5 Kite's Nest Farmhouse 30.7.59 II* House. Late C17. Limestone ashlar with tile roof. Two storeys with attic and cellar. South front is of five bays and has a plinth and two string courses. Within the plinth are rebated and chamfered mullioned cellar windows, of two lights except for the two right-hand ones, which are of three lights. On the ground and first floors are rebated and chamfered cross-windows. The two gables each contain a 2-light mullioned window. Between them is a small segmental gable with a worn sundial plaque. The four projecting lead spouts are said to be dated "1666". Chimneys behind ridge. A parallel range on the north side has the date "1677(?)"on the west gable. On the north side it is of two bays and has mullioned windows. Between the bays is a chamfered doorway with canted head. Interior: west room of south range has fireplace with bolection-moulded stone surround. Wide open well stair rises to the attic and has a closed string, moulded handrail, and turned balusters.
