7/43 Manor Cottage and Front Garden Wall to West G.V. II

Cottage. Early - mid C19, possibly a remodelling of an older cottage or possibly incorporating parts of the former manor house. Rendered rubble with freestone quoins and dressings; decorative fish-scale and plain tiled roof with coped raised verges and finials. Single storey and attics in 2 large outer and a small central gable. 3 bays: 3-light casement windows on ground floor in moulded mullions and surrounds and with cinquefoil 4-centred heads, under dripmoulds; 2-light windows in gables. Central projecting porch of ashlar; outer moulded doorway with cusped head. The south gable end has evidence of an older facade; cellar below; arms above first floor window. Low ashlar garden wall pierced with quatrefoils and moulded cornice; to west of house and returns for 3 yards to south.
