Details

EWELL 1. 1086 CHURCH STREET (South Side) No 6 (Malt End Cottage) No 8 (Tabards) TQ 2262 22/104 10.4.54. II GV

2. Late C18. (Earlier house refaced). Mathematical tiles. Two storeys and attic to centre, three cased sashes with grooved stucco heads, the centre one a 3-1ight. Ground floor with two wood canted bays with flat pitched hipped roofs. Band over 1st floor, parapet. Central 'gable' with semi-circular casement window; capping. Wings slightly set back to right and left; lower two storeys, mathematical tiles, one cased sash window each. Ground floor has similar bay window in each wing. Entrances to inner angles, each with semi-circular radiating fanlight, the right hand one with no doorcase and now having a small window, the left hand one an open pediment on brackets and door. Parapet with capping, old tile roofs.

The Watch House, Engine House, Church of St Michael, Hidden Cottage and Nos 2 to 10 (even) form a group.
