MARSTOW CP SO 51 NE 8/81 Brelston Court
GV II
Farmhouse. Probably c1750 with later alterations. Rendered sandstone rubble, sandstone ashlar, Welsh slate roofs and ridge stack with brick shafts. Rectangular plan aligned north-east/south-west. Cellar, two storeys and attics. South-east elevation is rendered and has five windows, glazing bar sashes, three hipped dormers with 2-light casements, two glazing bar sashes to right of central hipped porch which has right-hand entrance and two oculi, one to its front and the other to its left side. Ledged mid- C19 door within the porch. Segmentally headed entry to cellar on left-hand side. Attached to right is lower one-window part with segmental openings, one glazing bar sash to each floor and entry to left side. Extension to right of the last is mid-C19. Rear elevation to garden has sandstone ashlar to main part with two hipped dormers in catslide roof either side of small pediment with oculus. Ground floor has 2-light late C18 to early C19 casement to either side of ledged made-up C18 and C19 door. Lower parts to left have exposed sandstone rubble. Interior has flagged stone floors and 3-centred C18 archway behind rear entry to main range.
