MARSTOW CP SO 51 NE 8/82 Barn and attached stable about 20 yards south-east of Brelston Court
GV II
Barn and attached stable. Probably C18 with earlier elements and later alterations. Sandstone plinth, sandstone rubble, timber-frame with weather- boards and brick infill; corrugated iron roof. Four-bay barn aligned west- south-west/east-north-east with three-bay stable wing attached to east end of south side. Two levels to each part. North elevation of barn has two rectangualr early C20 windows to upper level set in weatherboards, one to each side of full-height opposed ledged doors to threshing floor in second bay from left. To right of threshing floor is a 6-pane window and doorway set in brickwork. Mid-C19 lean-tos to left and right gables. Interior of barn has four pairs of cruck blades, wall-framing of two square panels from cill to wall-plate and one-bay C19 full-height extension to west. Stable has two square openings to west elevation to right of entry. South gable has two vent loops to upper level and entry to left-hand side. Interior has trusses with collars and queen-posts from ties to principals.
