3/11 Canning Tomb Approximately 9 Metres To North-west Of Tower Of Church of St. Mary
G.V. II
Chest tomb. Early Cl9. Neo-classical style. Top With 4 chamfered faces, and acroteria at corners and central urn. Fluted corners. Cast iron railed enclosure with arrow heads and shaped standards with urn finials. Inscription illegible at time of resurvey. Thomas Canning is said to have been the brother of George Canning, foreign secretary, and briefly prime minister in 1827.
