26-1-56 GV II

Manor House. Early-mid C19 with some internal re-fashioning in 1930's. Stone walls, stuccoed and painted blue, with pilaster bay divisions and capitals. Projecting panels on front pilasters. Ground floor with sunk coursing. Hipped, slate roofs. Rendered (brick) stacks, left and right of centre, half-way back and at right hand gable. Double-pile cube house with intact service range to north. Front elevation: 2 storeys. 3 windows, sashes with thin glazing-bars (16 pane), to upper floor. Cl9 French windows to ground floor. Front door at centre, with 2 fielded panels, and one large upper light. Rectangular top light over, with marginal glazing-bars. Original service range attached to north, same materials, 2 storeys, 2 windows, with a rendered stack behind the apex at right end wall. Interior: Plan has transverse front hall, and inner staircase hall at north-west corner, with re-fashioned staircase. Doors have reeded architraves and roundel imposts. 6 recess-panel doors throughout. Compact service-block with original plan recoverable.
