House. Late C16, restored 1977 by F W B Charles. Timber-frame with lath- and-plaster infill on ashlar plinth, some brick and ashlar. H-plan, lateral stack to rear of hall range with three restored diamond plan shafts, also lateral stacks to cross-wings. Front: two projecting gabled cross-wings, porch in angle to right, all two storeys, with attic lit by central gabled dormers and casments in cross-wing gables. Left cross-wing restored with jettied tie-beam and first floor, one window to each floor, large projecting bay window to ground floor, hall range has 6-light oriel over 6-light case- ment; gabled porch with 3-light window over Tudor arched entrance, studded C16 door. To right cross-wing a 6-light window to both floors. Framing: restored to left cross-wing, close-studded with straight angle and tension braces, to right close-studding with mid-rail, gable restored. Rear elevation unrestored, with close-studded framing. Interior not inspected. (VCH 3, p 231).
