House. Circa mid C19. Probably brick, the front elevation stuccoed and blocked out, the side elevations rendered; hipped slate roof with 2 gabled projections to the front elevation and one to the left return with eaves carried on shaped timber brackets; brick stacks. Italianate villa style. A deep plan, only 2-rooms wide, the 2 main rooms at the front project on either side of a recessed entrance to the central stair hall. The secondary rooms and services are behind. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-bay front, the outer bays with gables treated as open pediments with blind bullseyes, the right-hand bay slightly advanced. The central bay is narrower and set back with a good porch with Ionic columns and an entablature and a 2-leaf half-glazed front door with margin glazing. 3-light windows with semi- circular lights except ground floor window left, 3-light with square heads, and the first floor window above the porch which is 2-light with semi-circular lights. A short gabled projection on the left return is treated similarly to those on the front. Interior Mid C19 features survive, including chimney-pieces, shutters and a stair with stick balusters. An attractive mid C19 villa in a prominent position overlooking the road.
