Footbridge over Netherton Tunnel branch at Windmill End Junction

Footbridge. Mid-C19. Cast iron with abutments of brick with sandstone dressings. Single shallow segmental arch. Sides pierced to form lattice pattern of saltire crosses and inscribed: "TOLL END WORKS". The Netherton Tunnel was opened in 1858. The Bumble Hole loop of Dudley number 2 canal was straightened in 1858 when the Netherton Tunnel was built.
The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1116918. That entry was removed from the List on 7 November 2016.
This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 8 November 2016.”
