6/154 North End Farmhouse 7.8.52

G.V. II Farmhouse. Dated 1640. Lias stone ashlar and brick walls (Flemish bond). Thatch roof with gable ends and stone gable copings. 3 ogee stone supports to the kneelers. 2 brick stacks at centre of left brick part, at right hand gable, with dogtooth cornices. 2 storeys. 5 windows, 2 5-light stone mullion windows to right ground (ovolo moulds). Separate labels over. Fixed glass lights and C20 metal casements, leaded. Left window has brick blocking the left light. Brick end of house has 2 and 3 light casements, cast iron, metal and wood. Front door, at centre of brick part, wood with glass panels, C20. Right hand end has original outshut to low rear stone wall. Continuous thatch catslide. Interior: mid-chamfered ceiling-beams with roll-and-tongued stops. Stone fire- place: Tudor-arch head with sunk spandrels and carved on the lintel in frames NCI 1640 IC Original hearth blocked.
