Pair of terraced town houses. c.1772-74 by Robert Adam. Brown brick with stucco dressings, slate roof. Three storeys, attic storey and basement. Each three windows wide. Doorways to right. Elongated console brackets supporting dentil cornices, panelled doors and patterned fanlights. Recessed sashes under gauged flat arches. First floor plat band; main cornice over second floor, parapeted attic. Cast iron balconettes to first and second floor windows on No.6 and to second floor only on No. 4.
Cast iron area railings with urn finials.
No.4 retains a number of good interior features with geometrical staircase with wrought iron balustrade, friezes, cornices, chimneypieces etc.
Part of the Adam Brothers' Adelphi development.
