GV II

Attached house. c1833. Stucco with limestone dressings, rendered return, and slate mansard roof. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys, attic and basement; 2-window range. Panelled pilasters to a frieze, cornice and parapet, and coped side gable. Doorway in the right return has panelled jambs and consoles to a pediment, overlight with glazing bars, and a 6-panel door. Architraves to 6/6-pane sashes, first-floor console cornices to French windows with margin bars, and wrought-iron lattice balconies with cast-iron details. INTERIOR: remodelled c1970. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached front area railings. The N side of Queen Square was rebuilt after the Reform Bill riots of 1831.
