2 shops, converted to one 1939. c1520, rear wing c1670. Timber-framed. Roof of black glazed pantiles to front, mixed pantiles to rear. 2 storeys and dormer attic. Specialised catalogue shop front intended for butcher's shop, c1905 is in 2 parts. East part with a central glazed-panel door between 2 wide sashes with pierced iron ventilation spandrels. Below are tiled dado with legend: J.R. Wharton & Son, Butcher. West part similar but with only a single display bay, to left of door. Roll-moulded bressumer to first-floor jetty. Exposed studs with plastered infill decorated with pargetted punched roundels. 3 3-light late C19 casements to this floor. Gabled roof with 2 flat-topped dormers. Internal gable-end stack to east. Rear: Outshut against main wall. 2-storey brick cross wing runs south from west end to terminate in a straight gable: platband at eaves line and 2 blocked oval windows in gable head. East return with a 3-light ovolo-moulded casement to first floor. Gabled roof with a tall gabled dormer on eaves line. INTERIOR. East side of ground-floor front with multiple roll-moulded spine beam and wall plate. West side with chamfered spine beam. First floor partitioned and with little of interest visible. Principal studs are jowled. Arched braces to tie beams and clasped purlin roof with collars. Winder to attic to rear of stack. Cross wing roof of butt lower purlins, trenched upper purlins and collars.
