GV II

House. Probably C15 with extensive C17 alterations. Stuccoed brick; tile roof with brick stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys with attic; gabled 2-window north elevation with adjacent similar elevation facing east. 2 platt bands and plain bargeboards with finial. Entrance to left end has bracketed canopy and 4-fielded-panel door with lights. Window to ground floor has pegged cross-casement with iron opening light and leaded glazing; 2 similar windows to 1st floor; attic has 2-light casement. Stack to right of gable. Adjacent elevation has projecting ground floor with ?wall posts, and enriched bargeboards with finial. Windows to ground floor have sills and 6/9-pane sashes with small-paned casement to return; 1st floor has 12-pane sashes; attic has 2-light leaded casement with iron opening casements and leaded glazing, similar window to 1st floor of angle. Rear facing into Vicars' Close has varied casements. INTERIOR: north range recorded as having roof trusses with heavily cambered tie beams.
