4/48 Lamorran Manor House -
GV II
Manor House. C16, C17 and later. Slatestone with granite. Asbestos slates on gabled and hipped roofs with stone and brick chimney stacks. L shaped plan with C18 wing to south on left of (east) entrance front. 2 storeys. East front has C19 wood sash, 8 panes per sash with exposed sash-box at second floor of C18 wing. A brick shaft rises off eaves to left of window; the roof is gable ended to left, hipped above sash. Large gable end of east front has early C16 4-centre arched doorway with moulded spandrels and hood mould in left hand corner. Extra label stop suggests possible resiting. Remainder of gable is rendered and blind and survives from C17 wing removed. At gable apex is brick shaft on tapering stone cap. The roof changes profile behind this gable. The large gable has lean-to on north side. To right a window and door and window midway over. Both windows are 2-light casements, 8 panes each. Gable end brick stack. Rear elevation to west has external stone lateral stack with tapering stone cap, possibly incorporating adjacent stair turret all at left. To right first floor wood sash 6-pane each sash with exposed sash box and wider wood window under. C18 wing projects slightly to left. Interior has chamfered oak beams in 2 rooms and huge fireplace with chamfered oak lintel and bread oven to north end and low arched opening at the side of lateral fireplace. First floor and roof not inspected.
