LEZANT - SX 38 SE 4/24 Barn approx 50 m north- west of Landue Barton
GV II
Landue Barton is shown on OS map as Landue. Barn. Early C19 with mid-C19 addition. Roughly coursed slate-stone with granite dressings and alternating angle quoins to original barn, red brick dressings to addition; hipped slate roofs. Bank barn with lower range added to right in mid-C19; on north side of farmyard. 2 levels. Bank barn has symmetrical window and door arrangement. Wide central plank double doors with flat lintel under lean-to hood and opposing entrance to rear. Ventilation slits to either side and small outer windows, right with slightly cambered head and left a 2-light wooden mullion. Narrow doorway to centre on ground floor flanked by wide inner doorways with plank double doors and narrow outer doorways, all with voussoirs to slightly cambered heads except flat lintel to far left. 2 segmental- headed windows to right addition, which has external lateral steps to end. Interior: Bank barn has collar truss roof in 8 bays, 2 outer trusses at each end with tie beams. Wooden threshing floor. Part of a good farmyard group formerly associated with Landue Barton (qv).
