Cemetery gateway and boundary walls. 1847. By Cuthbert Brodrick. Ashlar and yellow brick with stone dressings. Gateway has 3 cross-gabled Gothic piers with cusped ogee-headed niches, and stepped broaches with finials. Pair of large traceried cast-iron gates and to right, a smaller single gate. Adjoining incurved boundary wall has chamfered coping and closely spaced brick piers with rockfaced stone caps. This building is an early work of this well known architect.
