Farmhouse, now house. Mid-C18 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed
slate-stone rubble; slate roof original C18 house extended to right in early C19
with barn attached to left. 2 storeys. C18 part has C19 casement to first-floor
directly above 6-panel door (top panels glazed) in moulded wood surround; C18
casement with L-hinges directly below eaves to right with C18 L-hinged casement
to left and C20 casement to right of door, all ground-floor openings with wood
lintels. External end stack to left (now incorporated in barn) has red brick shaft.
16-paned glazing bar sash on each floor with slate-hanging between to Cl9 addition;
integral end stacks with red brick shafts. 2-storey lean-to to rear at junction
with C18 part. This has short 2-storey parallel gabled range (slate-hung on first
floor) to rear with lean-to to right against back wall of main house. Barn is
buttressed in 3-bays with some rendered concrete rebuilding to front. Interior:
Exposed joists to ground-floor rooms of house, left of which has open fireplace
with cloam oven to former external end stack. Same room also has cast-iron range
made by J Hoskin of Launceston in fireplace to back wall. C18 collar truss roof.
Barn incorporates part of an earlier building with outlines of former roof pitch
visible internally: present roof structure is late C19. There are 2 other houses
known as Higher Larrick in this hamlet: neither is included in this list.
