LEZANT HIGHER LARRICK SX 37 NW 5/46 Rose Larrick - - II
Farmhouse, now house. Late C18 remodelling of C17 house. Roughly coursed slate- stone; slate roof, hipped to right end of barn. Central through-passage plan with former barn attached to right gable end. 2 storeys. 3-window front; late C20 plastic casements in C18 openings directly below eaves and similar casements in C18 segmental-headed openings with voussoirs on ground floor. Central C20 glazed porch over 4-panel door. Integral end stacks with red brick shafts, right at junction with former barn (straight joint). This has 2 late C20 plastic casements directly below eaves and similar French window to right, latter in earlier opening. Stone mounting block attached to right end wall on road side. Lean-to kitchen attached to rear of house and rear doorway of through-passage is infilled with window inserted. Interior: Chamfered joists to 2 ground-floor rooms, right with slits for former lath and plaster ceiling. Inglenook fireplaces with segmental wood lintels to both rooms, left with cloam ovens, right with date "1798" incised to left jamb. Panelled window shutters and reveals. Joists exposed to first-floor ceiling and collar truss roofs to both house and barn, former earlier and only visible in roof space.
