6/108 The Old Vicarage (formerly listed as The Vicarage) 26.9.51 II

House. C16 and C17 L-plan house with late C18 and C19 extensions in angle and at N.E. and N.W. ends. Whitewashed render, brick plinth, 2-span old tile roof, C19 brick chimneys. Right gables have some chequer brick. 2 storeys, front of 5 irregular bays. Left bay is late C18-C19 projection with gable to right return wall, rendered cornice eaves, and 2-storey canted bay window to front with 3-pane sashes to each side. Remaining bays have similar sashes to first floor and to ground floor of 4th bay. Bays 2 and 3 have C20 lean-to porch with double doors below large shellhood on brackets and flanking oriel bow windows. Right oriel is on corner of porch and has conical roof, left oriel has ogee lead roof. Interior has some timber framing, stop-chamfered and moulded spine beams, and moulded cross beams to partitioned room in S.E. corner. Good late C18-C19 staircase with turned balusters.
