4 houses, now shops. 1829-30, partly refenestrated mid C19,
with late C20 alterations. By Charles Mountain Junior for Hull
Trinity House. Brick with granite plinth and ashlar dressings,
roof not visible. 2 gable stacks. Ground floor cornice,
moulded eaves and blocking, with cornice to rounded left
corner. 3 storeys; 7x3 windows, with 3 windows to rounded
corner. 7 plain sashes and above, seven 6-pane sashes, all
with brick flat arches. On the ground floor, 2 late C20 shop
fronts, that to left returned along Trinity House Lane, with
plastic fascias. Rounded corner has 3 plain sashes, the
central one with glazing bar toplight, all with cornices on
consoles. Above, three 6-pane sashes with moulded surrounds.
Left return, to Trinity House Lane, has similar fenestration
to the main front, with plain sashes to the second floor.
These buildings are part of a composition by Mountain which
comprises Nos 1-9 (consecutive) Whitefriargate.
