Includes: No.3 MARKET PLACE. House, now shops with accommodation above. Late C18, with late C19 alterations. Brick with stone-flagged roof. 3 storeys, 2-window range to Market Place. Late C19 shop front to left, with console brackets to fascia which continues across inserted shop front of right-hand unit. Tripartite sashes to first floor, and 8-pane sashes to upper storey, all with flat-arched brick heads. Angled corner to King Edward Street with 12-pane sash window to first floor, recessed. Irregular 4-window range beyond with central doorway with 6-panelled door with side lights and delicately traceried fanlight overall. Tripartite windows each side of doorway, and 16-pane sash to left. 12- and 16-pane sash windows to first floor. Moulded wood eaves cornice. Central and end wall stacks, with additional front wall stack to King Edward Street elevation. The building was formerly used as a printing works, and some of the drive shafting used to operate the machinery survives on the upper floor.
