Shop premises. Circa early C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble with asbestos
slate roof with hipped end to front.
1-room plan with blocked fireplace to rear originally heated by truncated axial
chimney stack and entrance to second floor premises beyond to rear left.
2 storeys, symmetrical single window front. Ground floor with C19 shop front with
pilasters and moulded cornice, two 4-pane windows with heavy glazing bars and central
partly glazed 4-panel door. First floor with circa late C18 Palladian window with
central light replaced. Second floor with tripartite early C19 sash without horns.
Interior with fairly slight ceiling beams to ground and first floor, C19/C20
softwood stair in shop and blocked fireplace retaining C19 chimney-piece on ground
floor. Second floor not inspected.
Victoria house is reputed to have had a balcony from which John Wesley preached in
the C18.
