Substantial early C18 house of 2 storeys and sunk basement, 5 windows. High
pitched, double span tiled roof with offset end chimneys. Red brick, painted.
Brick angle pilasters, cornice band and parapet. Band at 1st floor level. Gauged
segmental brick arches to replaced sash windows in near-flush moulded frames.
Similar arch and frame to deep reveal holding modern glazed door. 1st floor
centre window altered to smaller size. C19 pent extension at right.
Rear elevation in red brick shows 3 hipped, gabled dormers and some brickwork
renewed after war damage.
Inside, original staircase has ramped handrail, close spiral twist balusters,
and cut string with elaborately carved ends. Panelled dado. Above the dado,
on both parts of dog-leg between ground and 1st floor, 2 wall paintings of trophies
of arms. panelled rooms on 1st floor. Screen of 2 Doric columns, now filled
in with panelling, in hall.
