Farmhouse, now convent. Dated 1808 at 1st floor, but probably a remodelling of an earlier house; with additions. Coursed graduated sandstone rubble with quoins to three-quarters height, composition tile roof. The main range is double-depth and double-fronted, and has extensions attached to both rear corners. Two storeys and 2 windows, symmetrical; with a round-headed doorway which has an emphatic long-and-short surround (some parts repaired with render), 4-pane windows on both floors, all with thin raised sills and unusual tilting-casement upper lights, those at ground floor with wedge lintels and those above with thin rectangular lintels, and a carved datestone divided into 3 horizontal panels, a flower in the top, "H" in the centre and "1808" in the bottom. Gable chimney to left. Single-storey extension set back at left end. Staircase cross-window in right-hand gable; and L-plan 2-storey extension attached to rear corner. Rear has 2 vertical joints, a doorway in the centre of the main range, another in the addition to the left, and square casement windows. INTERIOR: large quarter-round moulded beam in front left room, simpler large beam in rear left room. Forms group with farm buildings approx 20m north-west (qv).
