House, now offices. Mid C18 with mid C19 top storey. Buff brick facade, red brick otherwise. Slate roof. 3 storeys and dormer attic in 4 bays. Pedimented doorcase to left standing on engaged Ionic columns below a metope frieze. 3 sashes to ground floor and 4 to first floor, all with glazing bars and under gauged skewback arches. Stone bracket cornice at original height of building. C19 top floor is lit through four horned sashes with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. Dentil cornice below pierced brick parapet. Gabled roof with two gabled dormers. Internal gable-end stacks. INTERIOR. Passageway entrance leads to rear and a square staircase hall. Very fine C18 staircase round open well. Open string. 2 turned balusters per tread, the tread ends with scroll carving. Ramped and wreathed handrail. Matching dado panelling. Fluted Ionic engaged columns support staircase at each turn. Gallery formed at first floor. Round-arched staircase window at this level, with glazing bars. Plaster modillion coving and elaborate chandelier rose. Ground floor front room is enriched with large-frame panelling. Over fireplace is an eared plaster picture frame on brackets with flanking scrolled consoles. Within apron is a fruit and flower swag, above is another, and fruit and flower trails decorate the sides. Main room above with similar plasterwork and panelling. Remainder of principal rooms also with large-framed panelling. Front range and rear wings with staggered butt purlin roofs.
