GV II
Primitive Methodist chapel, now Methodist Church. Dated 1857, with C20 alteration. Rough-cast brick on rendered brick plinth; coped gable ends, shaped kneelers and roll-moulded finials to shallow-pitched slate roof. 1-storey gable end on Town Street. Entrance on Lascelles Lane. 3 stepped round-arched lights in triple-keyed raised architraves, with round-headed Gothick glazing. Painted stone sillband on block brackets. Radial-glazed oculus with louvred centre in gable end, beneath triple-keyed semicircular band, inscribed: PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL, 1857 datestone below. Right return: 1-storey 3-bay front. Panelled double doors with radial-glazed fanlight in triple-keyed round-arched opening in central gabled porch. Flanking windows are round-arched with round-headed Gothick glazing and painted stone sills.
