Former mill and mill house, now house and museum. C18 Mill house to left, mill to right. Mill house is of red brick with one course of headers to 2 of stretchers. Tiled roof with brick chimneystack. 2 storeys 2 windows. Casements and C19 lean-to porch. Mill building is of ironstone rubble with brick dressings but gable end is of brick with some Flemish and some English bond. 1st floor has blocked opening, ground floor has 1 casement. Simple doorcase concealed by stone brick and thatched lean-to. Overshot wheel to right is a C20 replacement. Attached to the right hand side is a probably C17 section of stone wall, the remains of an earlier mill. Left hand side has C19 projecting section of brick and ironstone rubble with slate roof. 2 doors. Catslide roof to rear. Roof, which open above both house and mill has chamfered staggered purlins with some diagonal tension braces and collar beams. Interior of mill has iron pit wheel, renewed wooden great spur wheel, wallower, wooden upright shaft and C19 wheat and barley shutes.
