3/39 Farm Buildings at Fryars 30 metres E of house -
GV II
Farm buildings. Mid C19 (but after 1839 Tithe Map). Dark weatherboarded group of timber-framed, traditional farm buildings, forming a courtyard open on the W, with a 4-bay implement shed, weatherboarded and pantiled a little to the S. The N range is a 5-bay, tall slate roofed, barn with opposed double doors in the middle bay. The gabled slate roof is supported on 2 purlins to each slope on queen strut trusses with central tie rod to apex. There are diagonal ties across the corners. A lower, gabled coachhouse adjoins the barn on the E end. A shorter barn forms the centre of the S range. It has a gabled slate roof and opposed double doors in the middle bay, both under separate gabled roofs. There are lower pantiled ranges of stables, dairy to E and chaff room and tack room to W in S range. The lower E range houses a store and bullock house.
