Entrance lodge to Lathom Park, with attached screen walls. c.1730, altered , and the screen walls shortened. By Giacomo Leoni. Sandstone ashlar and coursed squared sandstone, slate roof. A former gate pier, from which the concave front and rear screen walls diverge, has been removed, and the walls shortened. The lodge, attached to the southern end of the rear wall, is octagonal in plan, 2 storeys, with a plinth, rusticated ground floor, 1st-floor band, and moulded cornice with blocking course; a square-headed doorway in the north side, with Gibbs surround and studded board door; vertical rectangular windows at ground floor with altered glazing (12-pane top-hung casements), and square 9-pane windows at 1st floor. C20 extension to south side (rear). Forms group with Ormskirk Lodge (q.v.).
