GV II
House. c1840, with later C19 and C20 extensions and alteration. Sandstone ashlar, with extensions of mottled and painted brick in English garden-wall bond; moulded timber eaves cornice; hipped slate roof, with brick stack at base of right hip and on ridge of wing. Central entrance hall plan, with rear service wing to left. 2-storey 3-window front. Front door of 6 raised-and-fielded panels with margin-glazed overlight, beneath moulded cornice hood on shaped brackets. To right, 3-light canted bay window with chamfered ogee-stopped mullions, moulded cornice and single-pane sashes. Other windows are 12-pane sashes with plain lintels, and all windows have stone sills. Modillion eaves course. Left return: 2-storey 3-window front with 2-storey 1-window projecting extension at left end. All windows are 12-pane sashes with stone sills and plain lintels, ground floor centre one altered from doorway. INTERIOR: dogleg, close-string staircase, with stick balusters, shaped handrail and turned column newel.
