Engine house, remains of. Early to mid-C19. Roughly coursed slate-stone with
granite,purple and yellow brick dressings; now roofless. Rectangular plan aligned
east-west 2 storeys with gable of east end now missing. Round-headed window
on each floor to west gable end and rectangular openings to sides. Formed part
of Holmbush Mine, first referred to as a lead mine in C17, later extracting
copper and tin. Working ceased in 1854 but the mine later re-opened as part
of Callington United Mines from 1888-92. A K Hamilton Jenkin, Mines and Miners
