TQ 3079 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER COWLEY STREET, SW1 101/48 No. 19 24.2.58 II* G.V.
Terrace house. c.1722, extended by 2 bays to right and restored 1920 by Blow and Billerey. Brown brick, tiled roof. 3 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 4 windows wide as built (similar to No 18 qv), with 2 bay matching extension. Entrance in 3rd bay from left in same Doric pilastered and cornice-hooded doorcase as No. 18. Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged rubbed brick arches and with similar brick dressings to jambs, apron panels below sills. Brick plat bands and parapet with coping. 2 large Tudor Rose wall ties. Wrought iron area railings with flambé torch finials. Part of an exceptionally well preserved enclave of early C.18 housing, together with Barton and Lord North Streets q.v.
