CHURCH ROAD 1. 5104 Edgbaston B15 No 12 (Churchfield) SF 0584 NW 48/2 II 2. A substantial circa 1830-40 Grecian villa. Two storeys stucco faced with 3 bay symmetrical front and a recessed service wing to north-west, screened by curved wall linking the coach house. Plinth; quoin pilasters and shallow centre break in same plane; moulded cornice end parapet advanced over centre. Hipped slate roof with corniced chimneys. The ground floor has channelled rustication carried over tripartite stucco bow window with cornices and blocking courses. Three sash windows on lst floor with late C19 sashes. Large porch of coupled, plain shaft Doric columns and deep entablature. Double, panelled door with rectangular fanlight. The south-east garden elevation is of 4 bays, 2 close set to central shallow break. Ground floor rusticated as on front With 3 French windows, screened by a circa 1870 cast iron verandah: slender column standards with pierced work to spandrels, Green key band and swept tent roof. Plain 3 bay rear elevation with centre break and rusticated ground floor. Tripartite centre windows, panelled risers to ground floor window.
