Terrace of 4 houses, now partially subdivided as flats. Dated 1839, with later additions and alterations. Flemish-bond brickwork with Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 11-window range with 1 blind window to centre of terrace, and full height segmental bay window in advanced wing of No.259 to left. Nos 253-257 in main range of terrace each have doorway to 1 side, and paired windows of principal room alongside. No.259 has entrance central on plan, with projecting wing to left side, and a single window to the right of the doorway. Nos 253 & 257 have doors in pedimented cases, Nos 257 & 259 have doorways recessed in fluted Doric and Ionic cases housed in shallow segmental arches, with fanlights, 1 with ornate tracery. 2-pane sash windows to ground floor and most of first floor, though some earlier 12-pane sash windows survive to first-floor right. All windows have channelled stuccoed flat-arched heads. Moulded stone eaves cornice. Projecting squared bay in gable return of No.253, with full-height bow window with French doors with margin lights to ground floor and 12-pane sashes above. Bow fronted wing of No.259 has 12-pane sash windows with splayed flat-arched brick heads and fretted wood hoods. Later wing to rear. End wall stacks.
