GV II
House, now flats. Dated 1741 on rainwater head; altered and internally remodelled. Handmade red brick in Flemish bond, with some sandstone dressings and slate roof. Two storeys and attics, 3 windows, symmetrical; with a low plinth of sandstone rubble and a large moulded gutter cornice. The doorway, up one semicircular step, has a moulded architrave, a door of 8 fielded panels with an overlight of 4 shouldered panes, and a large semicircular canopy carried on very elaborate carved console brackets. The 2 windows at ground floor and the 3 above are all unhorned 12-pane sashes with exposed boxes, and have flat-arched heads of gauged brick with keystones; and those to the left of the doorway each have one pane opening as a casement. To the right of the doorway is a downspout which has a large rainwater head with raised lettering: O R C 1741 Gable chimneys, corbelled out. Attic windows in gable walls. Right-hand gable wall mostly covered by attached former barn. rear: segmental-headed openings, mostly altered. Forms group with Nos 1 and 3 to the left (q.v.).
