Older E range is a former late medieval open hall (RCHM Typescript) with steep old red tile roof hipped at S but gabled at N. Plaster cracks suggest N bay of range may have been jettied on W side. S bay has small upper window and wide 4-light low window in former double doorway. Modern diamond leaded wooden casements. Large external lateral chimney on rear wall. Mid C17 wide 2 storeys NW rear wing, with large central chimney at junction of wings. Unusual in having parlour and pantry (?) planned side by side dividing its width. C19 brick and flint, slate roofed extension in angle of wings, and tiled lean-to against W gable of NW wing. Early C17 wall painting at upper level in N end of E range, of large and elaborate royal arms of James I period (RCHM Typescript, inf E Clive Rouse). In a prominent corner position due to road widening.
