SS7149 MARKET STREET, Lynton 858-1/4/40 (West side) Walls, railings, piers and gate to east of St Vincent

Boundary wall with railings, gate piers and gates. Early C19. Stone, cast- and wrought-iron. A low painted rubble wall across the full width of the site carries a low cast-iron railing with spearhead tops, on a saddleback coping. At the centre is a pair of square dressed stone piers on plinths, with pyramid cappings carrying ball finials, framing a simple gate in wrought-iron with dog-bars. A square rubble pier at the left-hand end, with pyramid capping, and the wall returns to the front of the building. At the opposite end the wall abuts a high retaining wall to the site. Included for group value.
